The Empowering Transformation for Community Health (ETCH) Framework guides AIDPH educational programming and our approach to broader community engagement. Drawing from the Transformative Learning Framework and the Empowerment Education Framework, our ETCH Framework incorporates adult learning principles that enhance personal and professional development while complementing traditional academic pursuits.

Join AIDPH's Speaker and Storyteller Network!
We’re inviting our community to join the AIDPH Speaker & Storyteller Network, a growing community of educators, practitioners, researchers, advocates, and leaders who are willing to share their expertise and lived experience across our programs. This includes continuing education sessions, leadership development courses, fellowship programming, virtual conferences, and community-centered learning opportunities. If you’re developing a project, launching a new approach, conducting research, building community partnerships, or advancing change in ways we haven’t yet seen, we want to hear from you. This network helps us learn what’s emerging in the field and helps us connect with speakers we may not otherwise know. We welcome voices from every perspective, including students, early-career professionals, experienced leaders, and those working in community environments or smaller organizations. If you have something meaningful to teach or a story that could strengthen the public health workforce, we invite you to share it with us.
NEW from Education & Leadership: A Strategic Plan for Iowa Stakeholders
Over the span of six months, AIDPH facilitated a multi-stakeholder strategic planning initiative to improve the oral health of Iowa veterans. Following the Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP) framework, AIDPH created a stakeholder analysis, designed goals and objectives, and outlined next steps toward coalition building and advocacy.
