Assessing and addressing community oral health
Formal leadership development programs and succession planning are largely absent for dental public health professionals. We must encourage and equip a new generation of clinicians with the training and support they need.
The 2022-23 DPHLA participants have been selected and will begin the program on September 21, 2022.
About the DPHLA
The AIDPH Dental Public Health Leadership Academy (DPHLA) is a 12-month program that will build the knowledge, skills, and capacity of early-career dental public health professionals and students to be leaders in their field. The DPHLA will incorporate didactic and case-based content, hands-on exercises, and collaborative, peer-to-peer learning. A national advisory group and expert faculty will provide teachings and related resources.
Monthly, two-hour calls for the full cohort. Each call will focus on a single leadership development or public health/policy, building on learnings of previous calls as the program goes on. DPHLA faculty will finalize call topics based on the specific needs and interests of the participants, as identified in the program application.
Each monthly call will feature subject-matter expert faculty and will incorporate a mix of didactic, experiential, and peer-to-peer learning.
