As a board member, you will play a critical role in shaping our strategic direction, ensuring our financial sustainability, and strengthening our impact. AIDPH is seeking board members who are highly aligned with our mission, vision, and values.

Board Member Responsibilities
The American Institute of Dental Public Health (AIDPH) is seeking passionate, visionary leaders to join our Board of Directors. AIDPH empowers communities to advance oral health through research, education, and advocacy. As a board member, you will play a critical role in shaping our strategic direction, ensuring our financial sustainability, and strengthening our impact. AIDPH is seeking board members who are highly aligned with our mission, vision, and values.
As a board member, you will provide governance, strategic oversight, and support to AIDPH’s mission. Your role includes:
- Strategic Leadership – Advise on AIDPH’s direction and long-term goals.
- Financial Stewardship – Ensure financial stability and sustainability through budget oversight and resource development.
- Advocacy & Outreach – Serve as an ambassador for AIDPH, expanding our reach and collaborations.
- Fundraising & Development – Contribute to AIDPH’s financial health through direct giving, fundraising, or partnership development.
- Governance & Accountability – Uphold fiduciary responsibilities, participate in board meetings, and support organizational policies and programs.
Expectations for Board Members
AIDPH seeks board members who align with our mission and values and bring expertise, leadership, and a commitment to advancing oral health equity. Board members are expected to:
- Serve a three-year term with the option for renewal.
- Attend quarterly board meetings (virtual, with occasional in-person opportunities).
- Actively participate in at least one board committee.
- Support AIDPH’s fundraising efforts, including an annual personal contribution.
- Champion AIDPH’s mission by leveraging personal and professional networks.
- Uphold a strong commitment to oral health justice, inclusion, and community engagement.
We encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds, including those with lived experience in communities we serve, to apply. Expertise in oral health, nonprofit leadership, public health, accounting/finance, law, or philanthropy is particularly valued.
