Applications are open for the 2026 AIDPH Federal Service Immersion Program (FSI) in Washington, DC. The AIDPH Federal Service Immersion (FSI) is a week-long, immersive learning experience exploring the intersection of public health infrastructure, federal funding, policy, programming, and advocacy. FSI hosts in-person site visits to federal health organizations and national nonprofits, where participants can engage with leaders to learn about each entity’s role and operations.

Who Should Apply?
FSI is designed for public health professionals seeking more exposure and training in public health programming, federal service, public policy, or community healthcare. Through this experience, participants will:

Program Details
2026 Information:
- Tuition: $1,800 covers registration, selected meals, and program materials.
- Lodging: We will arrange for accommodations at a conveniently located hotel in the Washington DC area, with costs averaging about $250 per night. Booking details will be provided upon acceptance.
- Transportation: We will use the DC metro system, the most efficient and cost-effective way to attend site visits. Expect approximately $35 for the week’s transportation.
- Key Dates: Apply for FSI no later than June 8, 2026.
Application and Selection
AIDPH staff and program faculty will assess each application to ensure that applicants are positioned well to participate and are likely to benefit from doing so. In reviewing each application, AIDPH will consider:
- A demonstrated commitment to public health and increasing access to healthcare through community advocacy
- A demonstrated interest in a career working in public health, a federal agency, or a similar field
- The overall thoughtfulness and thoroughness of answers to the application questions
- Commitment to the program format and expectations
