Urging the Biden administration and transition chairs to commit to and prioritize health care and COVID-19 response December 8, 2020
In cooperation with Families USA, AIDPH participated in a sign on letter to the incoming Biden Administration, urging the transition team to prioritize health and health care. The letter urges bold and immediate action to address the COVID-19 pandemic, common-sense reforms to make health coverage and care affordable, prioritizing high quality and consumer-centered health care, and ending racial injustice in health and healthcare.
Call for Reclaiming Comprehensive Public Health: A Call to Action November 30, 2020
In coordination with ACON, AIDPH participated in a Call to Action to heads of state and government around the world regarding missed opportunities to build cooperation, public trust, and public health. It advocates a comprehensive public health response. Read the full Call to Action here.
Supporting the Improving Social Determinants of Health Act of 2020 (H.R. 6561-S.4440) October 23, 2020
In cooperation with Trust for America's Health, AIDPH participated in a sign on letter supporting The Improving Social Determinants of Health Act of 2020. This bill would authorize the CDC to create a program to improve health outcomes and reduce inequities by coordinating CDC social determinants of health (SDOH) activities and improve the capacity of public health agencies and community organizations to address SDOHs. In cooperation with the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, AIDPH participated in a sign-on letter advocating for passage of the Ensuring Lasting Smiles Act.
Expanding Authorization for Dental Professionals to Order and Administer COVID-19 Vaccinations September 22, 2020
In cooperation with the American Association for Dental Research, AIDPH participated in a sign on letter to ADM Brett Giroir, Assistant Secretary for Health, US Department of Health and Human Serivces, advocating for expanding authorization for dental professionals to order and administer COVID-19 vaccinations, once they are made available. Request for policies related to next COVID-19 releif package May 21, 2020
In cooperation with OPEN, AIDPH participated in a sign on letter to Speaker Pelosi and Leaders McConnell, McCarthy, and Schumer, urging them to advance policies to stabilize state budgets and protect access to essential oral health care, and to provide support to state health departments and oral health programs.
