2022 is almost a wrap! If you haven’t already, read AIDPH’s 2022 Impact Report to learn about all of our accomplishments over the past year, and what we’re looking forward to in 2023.
There are two “G” words that could be used to describe 2022. The first is growth. AIDPH achieved record growth in the past year while elevating oral health equity in the veteran, LGBTQIA+, and rural health communities. We expanded and refined our educational programming, and advanced innovation through published research with strategic recommendations on veteran oral health and COVID-19’s impact on the dental public health workforce.
We’ll continue growing as we move into the new year, intensifying our focus on veteran, rural, and LGBTQIA+ communities, while helping cultivate and empower leaders in the oral health space to improve the lives of underserved and marginalized communities. Our roadmap for 2023 also includes a renewed focus on people with disabilities, which we are very excited about!
The second “G” word is gratitude – specifically to our supporters who make our work possible. We’re especially thankful for CareQuest Institute for Oral Health, the Barstool Difference, Delta Dental Foundation of Iowa, and the National Network for Oral Health Access (NNOHA). We couldn’t have done our work without you!
Whether you’re new to the oral health profession or have been working in this field for some time, we invite you to follow us as we continue on our journey to disrupt inequitable oral health systems to improve the lives of those who need it the most. Follow us on social media, attend an educational event, bookmark this blog, or subscribe to our listserv to be among the first to see what we’re working on next. If you’re interested in becoming a partner or supporter, send us an email. It’s an exciting time to be part of AIDPH, and we can’t wait to see where we end up in 2023.
