Each year, AIDPH sponsors a one-week service learning program in Washington, DC where advanced education dental students visit federal health agencies and discuss the role of government in public health. FSI participants meet national leaders while attending site visits with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), National Institutes of Health/National Institutes of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIH/NIDCR), Indian Health Service (IHS), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Here’s what previous participants have said about their experience with FSI:
“The Federal Service Internship was a great way to learn more about what is going on with the federal government and see future job opportunities. It was a great opportunity to network.”
“Visiting different Federal organizations, meeting peers at other schools, and getting familiar with online resources helped me tremendously!”
Check out our Facebook page to see pictures from previous years. Registration for FSI opens summer 2019 for participation in the Fall 2019 program.
