The Data-Driven Economic Implications of Veteran Oral Health Health

Giving veterans access to dental care improves overall health and stimulates the economy. Following our collaborative white paper on advancing equitable oral health for veterans, newly released data from the American Institute of Dental Public Health and CareQuest Institute for Oral Health recognize the cost savings of providing effective, holistic oral health care to veterans through avoided emergency department visits and chronic disease management. This workshop will review the new visual report and review the accompanying veteran oral health data dashboard - a tool for analyzing state and community-based insights on key drivers of veteran oral health and wellbeing. Participants are encouraged to use this tool during the workshop and provide feedback/questions in real-time. Future iterations of the dashboard will include insights gleaned from the oral health community as AIDPH and CareQuest Institute continue democratizing this veteran oral health data for community use and benefit.
