I am excited to share news about our upcoming colloquium. Each year, AIDPH hosts a colloquium on a cutting-edge topic in dental public health. Previous colloquia focused on interprofessional and value-based care, dental informatics, and precision public health.
The topic area of this year’s colloquium is social determinants of oral health in all policies. We hope that you will join us at the colloquium to be held in warm, sunny San Antonio along the beautiful Riverwalk in January, 2020. We will explore several initiatives that promote the inclusion of oral health in policies, including an oral health provision in Medicare and expansion of Medicaid to uniformly include dental care for adults. Policies on dental workforce, health literacy, mandatory school-entrance oral health examinations, and best practices are other topic areas that may be a part of the colloquium.
We hope that you can join us. The overall goal of the colloquia is to promote discussion about a timely topic relevant to dental public health in an environment that promotes scholarship and engagement. Dental public health residents and residency directors can attend at no cost. The cost for everyone else to register is $150. To facilitate discussion, interaction and networking, the colloquium is limited in registration. Information about registration will be available in the fall through AIDPH or AAPHD. If you are interested in the colloquia, videos and slides are available at https://aidph.org/colloquium. I am looking forward to seeing you there.
